A child's bike is the right size when both of the child's feet can firmly touch the ground. This criterion is particularly important for toddlers or children who are not yet comfortable on a bike. Also, make sure their knees don't hit the handlebars when they're pedaling. For children under 8, the seat should be adjusted regularly as the child grows. Your child should be able to place both feet flat on the ground when seated on the saddle to make stopping easier.
